"I traveled out for the weekend and came home (somewhere in Cele, Lagos) to find this little angel roaming around my compound. Upon asking neigbhours, I was told that the dog had been lurking around since Saturday. I have made efforts by going around the estate asking questions to no avail. I have groomed him, fed him well, and called a vet to come and ensure he is in good medical condition. I know its not an abandoned dog because it is an exotic specie. Please if you are the owner, or know how to contact the owner, you can reach me on 07046114383. Better if you send a text message and I call you back."

I must ask you this question. In our pursuit for happiness, do we focus on the dictates of life based on our social environment or on our own personal need of what individually makes us happy? For the past few days the global social media has been agog with Bruce Jenner sex change, he now wishes to be called Caitlyn.
Surfing through some of our local blogs, I have read some yahoo yahoo comments from Nigerians who feel that their yeye comments are really of any importance in the decision taken by this great Olympian, now, the gender bender.
Yes, I saw Bruce Jenner Vanity Fair interview. I read it over and over, it sounded so gutsy, sincere, truthful and so free. Bruce had always been married, had kids, and a successful career but for a long time he had never been happy and content with being a man. Sometimes we find it difficult understanding what prompts one to make those kinds of changes that are physically and emotionally permanent and we start to speculate, Maybe he wanted to rebrand, wanted to put himself back into serious reckoning again. Yes, sometimes it can be about the drama and the almighty dollars who is to say. However, It just may be devoid of all those and just be a spiritual journey to finding self, purely a pursuit of happiness, about being free, and finding strength to be that which makes one feel complete irrespective of who's ox is gored!
My take
It is not one’s masculinity or femininity alone that defines one’s identity, it is the harmony between the two that determines how comfortable and integrated one’s identity is going to be. In other words, shocking as this may be to the more macho in our midst, inside some men, lies an unexpressed woman. And even more shocking is the proposition that the object of masculine identity development is not the elimination of this woman, but acknowledging the existence of, and fine-tuning the feminine side with the masculine part of the identity. In other words, blending the two fundamental principles of yin and yang to influence our behavior.
The “masculine woman” has become more socially acceptable than the “feminine man”, who is still an object of derision. And herein lies the root of the gender conflict. Women find it easy to pursue their masculinity; men find it disagreeable to even acknowledge, let alone pursue their femininity. A few people have been able to find that balance and I am happy that Linda lives here, in me? Yesoooooo!
So to those of you in your personal pursuit for happiness whatever it is, climb every rainbow and follow every star till you find your dream

When the Russian beauty was asked if she preferred to have a partner or be alone, she said;
"Of course I prefer to be with someone, but with the right someone. It’s very simple. You have to be faithful to your other half and not have secrets. That’s my rule.”Asked to define her perfect partner, she said:
“He’s got to be kind, amusing and honest and he’s got to know how to treat a woman. And he’s also got to be faithful.”This reply is the closest she's come to confirming Cristiano cheated on her.

The Nigerian Army has released a statement reacting to the Amnesty International's report earlier today which indicted Senior Military officers of committing war crimes. The world humanitarian body mentioned names and called for a full investigation of the officers who they allege participated, sanctioned and failed to prevent the deaths of about 8,000 Nigerians since activities of Boko Haram started in Nigeria. See the Army's reaction below...
The Defence Headquarters has noted with dismay the gruesome allegations made by the Amnesty International against some senior military officers serving and retired of the Nigerian Armed Forces. It is unfortunate that all effort made in the allegation was geared towards continuation of blackmail against the military hierarchy in which the organisation had embarked upon as far back as the inception of military’s action against terrorist in the North East.Read the rest and see the report from Amnesty International after the cut...

24 hours to the end of their tenure, members of the Nigerian Senate passed 46 bills in less than 10 minutes, a situation best described as a 'historic moment'. The Senators will be ending their tenure as tomorrow June 4th to give rise to the 8th National Assembly.
At today's plenary session, the Chairman, Senate Committee on Rules and Business, Senator Ita Enang, announced all 46 bills before the house and then Senate President, David Mark, immediately called for votes on all the 46. He gave consent to all the "Ayess" which resulted in a rowdy session as those who were against the manner in which the bills were passed voiced their objection. The Senate President however told the aggrieved Senators to come tomorrow for consideration.

The photos had to be censored because they're quite graphic. An abandoned new-born baby, said to be about 3 days old, was discovered by a man in the woods being 'eaten alive' by ants. The man, who called police, said he heard the child crying while he was taking a shortcut to work through the woods on the outskirts of Chelyabinsk, a city in Russia. The badly bitten child was lying on a pile of leaves and covered in ants. See another photo after the cut...

It's extremely wrong but I kinda understand the 'wicked step-mother' ish, but when you do it to your own child, it's more puzzling. According to a LIB reader, who sent in the report and story, the mother of this child, brutally attacked her this morning at their home in Benin because according to her, she was slow to get ready for school.
The LIB reader, who is a neighbour to the mother and child, said she constantly maltreats her children, two girls and a boy aged 8, 6 and 5 and beats them with wire, wood, rod etc. The neighbours went to rescue this girl after hearing her shouts for help this morning. They want the children rescued from the woman. Their father is reportedly in prison. Another photo after the cut...

The roads, according to reports, were blocked to ensure that the 19 APC lawmakers who are currently at loggerheads with the Governor and are lodged at the Sonap Hotel in Osogbo in Osun state, do not gain entrance into the state to carry out their planned impeachment process against Governor Fayose.
Governor Fayose and the Lawmakers are now fighting over their unpaid entitlement since November 2014 when they were "impeached" from the state House of Assembly by PDP lawmakers.
According to Governor Fayose who spoke on Channels TV, he said he had a meeting with the aggrieved Lawmakers last week where they told him that the issues will be resolved after he pays them their salaries which backdates to November 2014.
Governor Fayose said because he craved to have peace in his state and avoid breakdown of law and order, he consented to their wish and immediately released Cheque for their salaries to be paid. Cheques of N2 million and some fraction was given to the lawmakers each but they refused to accept the Cheque, saying their salaries cannot be only N2 million when calculated from November 2014.
Here are copies of the cheques with which Ekiti APC lawmakers were paid (exclusive to LIB)
